OrthoTape's 4-inch tubular orthopedic cast stockinette is perfect for the long or short-leg cast application or as an undersleeve for any knee brace or cam walker. This material is thick but breathable wicking away sweat quickly.
OrthoTape 4-inch compression stockinette is a high thread count, synthetic tubular sleeve bandage that maximizes support and minimizes constriction. Synthetic tubing sleeve provides good compression and support as a liner for the skin when worn under compression wraps, knee braces, amputee products, as wound dressing, and orthopedic casts. It is also commonly used as a pull sock for applying arm or AK prosthetic sockets.

Note for sizing: Need to know what size stockinette to order? Measure the circumference of your leg or arm. Stockinette is measured in width so basically, it is the diameter value. So you would double the value. For example, a 3" stockinette has a circumference of 6", 4" stockinette has a circumference of 8". Stockinette will stretch some, so you have about 0.5 to 1 inch of a stretch to that circumference value.
What is a 4" stockinette used for?
4-inch stockinette is primarily used for casting a leg for teenagers and adults.
What if I only want a few feet of stockinette?
We sell stockinette by the foot.
Is this waterproof, can I use it with waterproof padding?
We do not recommend it as it will take longer for your waterproof cast to dry. We do sell waterproof stockinette. Search for "Waterproof" in the search bar above.
My son (6 years old)had a long arm put on for 1 month and it was torture especially in the august California heat. When we found out he was getting a short arm after 4 weeks I ordered this in hopes it would help him being able to breath more in the cast, and not feel so overwhelmed.
It did! He even lets me wash his hand now without crying!! We don’t fully submerge it, but we do wash around the areas with ease.
It’s been amazing.
Site looked a little sketchy to me but I took the risk and glad I did. It was here in 4-5 days and having the camo Print has been nice, he gets lots of compliments.
