Exos Long Thumb Spica II With Boa - Djo Global
The Exos Long Thumb Spica II With Boa - Djo Global provides you and your patients with an adjustable, reformable, and lightweight solution to aid in the treatment of fractures and other injuries that require stabilization to the thumb in adduction, to the first metacarpal phalangeal (MCP) joint and first carpometacarpal (CMC) joints, as well as secondary support for the radiocarpal and radioulnar wrist joints. It has also been useful for confirmed or suspected navicular (scaphoid) fractures, and arthritis. The Exos Long Thumb Spica II With Boa can be used preoperative, postoperative, and post-traumatic as well as for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). Note: this brace is not made with natural rubber latex.

RADIOLUCENT • Allows for x-rays to be taken without the removal of the brace • Helps clinical assessment of fracture healing without re-casting

HEATING AND APPLICATION Open and unfold the brace. The proper heating temperature is 200°F (93°C). Heat the brace in the Exos™ oven for approximately 3-4 minutes or until the brace is pliable. The brace should not be too hot to handle comfortably. Ensure that the skin is dry before application. ? Fit brace on the patient. Remove slack in lace by tightening Boa® Knob. Caution: Do not tighten the brace fully until the brace has returned to room temperature otherwise indentations in plastic may occur. Mold brace into the desired position. Hook-and-loop fastener strap may be secured in the desired position. Once the brace has hardened, the Boa® Knob may be tightened to desired tension.

The first time applying the casting material, the 2 in rolls were setting before they ever even made it from the water to my arm. So it was difficult to apply, and could not get either roll to stick and form/set properly. All of which hurt my arm from the movenents.
However, the 3 roll was MUCH better and worked great. Only wish there were 2 rolls of the 3 vs the 2. Overall not a bad product, but am going to try out the orthoneal instead of repurchasing delta dry.
My 3 year old broke his arm and the cast they put on him was a nightmare. The first couple days wearing the hospital cast I knew there had to be something better. I did some searching and came across the waterproof cast. I ordered it and took it to his doctor and asked to put it on. At first they said “NO” but another doctor there heard what I wanted and she has been on the hospital for awhile now to order a waterproof cast and she was wanting to see how they did, so she replaced the old cast with the one I ordered. I can’t wait to show them how great it is. My son has be swimming, fishing ( which leads to getting muddy) and the cast has been awesome. No stressing about getting it wet or dirty. We can just rinse it off!!
