Exos Long Thumb Spica II With Boa - Djo Global
The Exos Long Thumb Spica II With Boa - Djo Global provides you and your patients with an adjustable, reformable, and lightweight solution to aid in the treatment of fractures and other injuries that require stabilization to the thumb in adduction, to the first metacarpal phalangeal (MCP) joint and first carpometacarpal (CMC) joints, as well as secondary support for the radiocarpal and radioulnar wrist joints. It has also been useful for confirmed or suspected navicular (scaphoid) fractures, and arthritis. The Exos Long Thumb Spica II With Boa can be used preoperative, postoperative, and post-traumatic as well as for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). Note: this brace is not made with natural rubber latex.

Wrap the tape loosely around your hand to measure your size and compare it to the chart below. Upsizing is recommended if you measure between sizes or prefer a loose or roomy fit. This item is often returned for being too small. It's better to go with the bigger size as it can be molded to fit.

HEATING AND APPLICATION
Open and unfold the brace.
The proper heating temperature is 200°F (93°C).
Heat the brace in the Exos™ oven for approximately 3-4 minutes or until the brace is pliable. The brace should not be too hot to handle comfortably.
Ensure that the skin is dry before application. ? Fit brace on the patient.
Remove slack in lace by tightening Boa® Knob. Caution: Do not tighten the brace fully until the brace has returned to room temperature otherwise indentations in plastic may occur.
Mold brace into the desired position.
Hook-and-loop fastener strap may be secured in the desired position.
Once the brace has hardened, the Boa® Knob may be tightened to desired tension.
