What is a Sugar Tong Splint?
The sugar-tong or reverse sugar-tong forearm splint is a long U-shaped splint that immobilizes the injured forearm and wrist and prevents rotation and wrist motion. The sugar tong heals fractured bones by keeping the fractured ends together and in proper alignment. It got its name because of its long shape and similar look to the utensil used to pick up sugar cubes. This splint design provides superior stability by wrapping from one side of the hand, up the forearm, around the elbow, and back down to the other side of the hand.
Key Features:
Pre-Padded Design: Padding already built into splint material—no extra layers needed
Quick-Setting: Hardens in just 5-7 minutes for fast patient care
Easy Application: Wet, trim, form, and wrap—simple 4-step process
Complete Kit: Includes splint, self-adhesive bandages, cast padding, and gloves
Professional Quality: Same materials used by orthopedic specialists and emergency departments
U-Shape Design: Provides superior forearm and wrist stability
Prevents Rotation: Stops harmful forearm rotation and wrist movement

Why Buy Direct Instead of at Your Doctor's Office?
Purchasing your wrist splint kit directly from OrthoTape offers significant advantages over getting it at your doctor's office or emergency room. You'll save money—we charge considerably less than what medical facilities typically bill patients or insurance companies for splinting materials. Emergency room splint applications can cost $300-600 or more when billed through insurance, while our complete kit costs a fraction of that. Many medical offices have limited inventory and may only stock basic white bandages, while we offer multiple color options so you can choose what you prefer. Our splint materials are the same professional-grade products—if not better—than what your doctor or ER uses, meeting or exceeding all industry standards. By ordering from us, you get exactly what you need at a fraction of the cost, with fast shipping directly to your door. You can bring this kit to your doctor's appointment or urgent care for application, or if you're trained, apply it yourself. Many patients save hundreds of dollars by purchasing their splinting supplies in advance rather than paying inflated medical facility prices.

Great product for Thumb
I was very please with the purchase of the fiberglass thumb splint, it works well for my son. after i finally figured out how to use it, getting to form to his thumb and arm was a breeze.
I have De Quervain’s tenosynovitis flare ups to this day even though I had tendon release surgery almost 8 years ago. I also had a trapeziectomy (removal of trapezium bone) due to arthritis at the same time.
Unfortunately I am one of the very few for which the surgery did not solve the problem entirely & symptoms keep recurring . The only full relief I get is when I put my hand in a cast for a few weeks. (If I have a brace, I usually end up removing !)
The short arm cast is the only thing that provide me relief and I am willing to wear one once or twice a year to provide relief to my never ending issue.
While the original delivery did not contain the correct boot, the correct one was sent very quickly once support was open. The boot is fantastic. So much better than the non inflatable one I had before ordering this one. The arch and heel support is far better than the first boot I had that was not inflatable. Being able to easily adjust the pressure throughout the day has been a god send. I would definitely recommend this boot to anyone in an injury similar to mine.
So far my Rebound Foot Up is working well. It is amazing how such a small device can make such a difference in my gait. We set it up on an outer eyelet to not only hold my toes up, but also pull my foot into a better position. My foot is hitting the floor more in line with the other. My wife noticed immediately the change in my gait and the sounds of my foot steps. I’m not “clomping” around.
We will see in a few weeks how it is working out, but so far I’m thrilled.
