The Delta Fleece Orthopedic Cast Edger is a soft, flexible fleece strip that folds over the raw edges of a fiberglass or plaster cast, protecting the skin from rubbing, chafing, and pressure sores throughout the healing period.

What Is a Cast Edger?

• A soft fleece strip applied to the open edges of a cast (top, bottom, or thumb hole)
• Prevents skin breakdown caused by rough or sharp cast edges
• Commonly applied by clinicians at the time of casting, or added later if irritation develops
• Works with fiberglass and plaster casts on arm, leg, thumb, and wrist

Cast Care Tips

• Never insert objects inside a cast to scratch — this can break skin and cause infection
• Check skin around cast edges daily for redness, sores, or raw spots
• If edges are rubbing, contact your orthopedic provider — cast edging or padding can be added
• Keep the cast dry to prevent skin breakdown under the cast
