Foot pain, fracture, and pain in the arch of the foot, treatment, and solutions.
We have a variety of options for foot pain solutions. From broken toe, plantar fasciitis, bone spurs, diabetic foot problems, pain in the arch of the foot, to bunion post-op surgery shoes.
A common cause of foot pain and treatment options:
Diabetic foot problems - Diabetic foot often occurs from lack of circulation of the leg and foot. Diabetic ulcers are commonly treated by keeping pressure from that wound area. A post-op shoe will help speed recovery. Also using an insert such as Peg Assist will help take pressure off of a diabetic wound.
Stress Fracture in the foot - Often overuse, running, a simple drop of an item on the foot, or a fall can cause a stress fracture. Stress fractures are easy to heal with a medical cam walker boot. This will help keep your foot protected and stable while it does the natural process of healing. Some fractures will require first a fiberglass cast immobilization and then a transition to a medical walking boot. Treatment often varies per different doctors. The fiberglass Casting option provides better patient compliance and better fracture protection which is a major factor in recovery. The medical boot should be a second option or follow-up treatment.
Plantar Fasciitis - pain in the arch or heel of the foot is due to a condition called plantar fasciitis. The best treatment is to stretch the plantar fascia ligament with a night splint.
