Everything you need in a splint kit to make the Sugar Tong or Reverse Sugar Tong Forearm Splint. Our OrthoTape Padded Synthetic Pre-Cut Splint material is a unique quick-setting splint system that already has the padding built in. No need to add extra padding or stockinette to make the splint. Simply remove from the pouch, wet, trim, and form around the patient's limb. Then apply our self-adhesive bandages included with your kit to hold the splint in place. Allow 5-7 minutes for the splint to set and solidify.

The sugar-tong or reverse sugar-tong forearm splint is a long U-shaped splint that immobilizes the injured forearm and wrist and prevents rotation and wrist motion. The sugar tong heals the fractured bones by keeping the fractured ends together and in alignment. It got its name because of its long shape and a similar look to the utensil used to pick up sugar cubes.

Great product for Thumb

I was very please with the purchase of the fiberglass thumb splint, it works well for my son. after i finally figured out how to use it, getting to form to his thumb and arm was a breeze.

Product was delivered quickly and arrived exactly as expected. It’s a top quality product, though it’s not needed I would personally add another roll of padding and appropriate sized stockinette for added comfort.

I’m not sure it will work

I’m not sure it will work. The issue is with my husband’s neck “drop” due to Parkinson’s. To keep his head up like it should, the back side of the brace isn’t resting on his back but up and bothering his shoulder. It’s soft enough, but I’m just not sure it’s get right.

This is an easy product to apply to a horse hoof. It is not slippery like some other polyester brands. The slippery brands do so becsuse it gives the feel of plaster casting for human applications. However, when applying a polyester cast to a horse it important that the material be tactile and not slip out of your hand if the horse moves.
