Posterior Sprained Ankle Fiberglass Splint Kit
Use: Severe Ankle Sprain/Strain, Distal Tibia/Fibula Fracture.
Everything you need in a Fiberglass splint kit to make a Posterior Sprained Ankle Splint. Our OrthoTape Padded Synthetic Pre-Cut Splint material is a unique, quick-setting splint system that already has the padding built in. There is no need to add extra padding or stockinette to make the splint for a sprained ankle. Simply remove from the pouch, wet, trim, and form around the patient's ankle sprain. Then apply our self-adhesive bandages included with your kit to hold the ankle splint in place. Allow 5-7 minutes for the splint to set and solidify.
A posterior sprained ankle splint goes on the back of the leg, whereas a stirrup ankle splint fits around the sides of the lower legs and the foot like a stirrup. The stirrup splint prevents inward and outward movement at the ankle (side to side)(inversion and eversion), and the posterior ankle splint keeps the ankle at a 90-degree angle (top to bottom). Sometimes the posterior splint and stirrup splint are applied together for even more support.
I was very please with the purchase of the fiberglass thumb splint, it works well for my son. after i finally figured out how to use it, getting to form to his thumb and arm was a breeze.

Product was delivered quickly and arrived exactly as expected. It’s a top quality product, though it’s not needed I would personally add another roll of padding and appropriate sized stockinette for added comfort.
amazing product, very easy, and the videos showing the step-by-step are extremely helpful. plus all the options for the colors make it a great product!!
