Both versions provide the same ROM hinge technology and telescoping frame. The difference is in how the frame is shaped relative to your leg's anatomy.

The human knee is not symmetrical. The medial (inner) and lateral (outer) sides of the leg have different contours — the thigh tapers differently, the calf curves differently, and the knee joint itself has a slight natural valgus angle. A Universal brace uses a straight, symmetric frame designed to work on either leg. It is an excellent choice for most patients and is the most commonly prescribed option.

A Contoured brace has an anatomically offset frame that mirrors the natural shape of a specific leg (Left or Right). This offset design delivers several clinical advantages for certain patients:
