Fiberglass Stirrup Sprained Ankle Splint Kit
Everything you need in a Fiberglass splint kit to make a Stirrup U-Shape Sprained Ankle Splint. Our OrthoTape Padded Synthetic Pre-Cut Splint material is a unique quick-setting splint system that already has the padding built-in. No need to add extra padding or stockinette to make the splint. Simply remove from the pouch, wet, trim, and form around the patient's limb. Then apply our self-adhesive bandages included with your kit to hold the splint in place. Allow 5-7 minutes for the splint to set and solidify.
The stirrup splint prevents inward and outward movement at the ankle (side to side)(inversion and eversion) and the posterior ankle splint keeps the ankle at a 90-degree angle (top to bottom). A posterior ankle splint goes on the back of the leg whereas a stirrup ankle splint fits around the sides of the lower legs and the foot like a stirrup. Sometimes the posterior splint and stirrup splint is applied together for even more support.
I was very please with the purchase of the fiberglass thumb splint, it works well for my son. after i finally figured out how to use it, getting to form to his thumb and arm was a breeze.

I have a severe sprain with ligament damage. My physician loves these products to splint my ankle and it also saves you when you don’t have great insurance.

This product has been great. I put it in the oven for a few minutes and then gently formed around my wrist etc. it’s great to be able to tighten or loosen it a little bit depending on weather I’m working or sleeping.
Also, ortho tape is a small business. The guy who owns it was so helpful and prevented me from making an ordering error. I couldn’t be happier with the service or the product.
