NOTE: Cast shears are made to cut hard items such as Fiberglass and Plaster. They will not cut through soft items such as padding and stockinette. You need a good pair of scissors to cut the padding and stockinette. Cast shears cut the fiberglass hard part, scissors cut the soft padding.

Solid item that does the job. However in some thicker spots on a cast you will need some big time muscle if you’re just using these. Overall, can’t be mad with the item at this price. 4/5

will the shears cut through a thick cast? Like 4 or 5 layers?

Hello. The cast shears will cut through a thin cast. It is more difficult to do a thick casts. Think casts depend on your grip strenth. Also remember that you need scissors to cut the padding and stockinette. That part will not cut with the cast shears. The cast shears can only cut the fiberglass part.
