  • Lightweight & adjustable—one brace throughout treatment (reduces waste)
  • Latex-free

Which Exos Thumb Spica Do I Need?

You may have noticed on our site that there are TWO Exos Thumb Spica Braces. If you have a prescription/diagnosis, match what your provider recommended.

Exos Long Thumb Spica II™ (BOA®)

Best for: thumb injury plus needing more wrist/forearm control.

Exos Long Thumb Spica II with BOA
Primary differences/uses:
  • More forearm length = helps limit wrist motion more.
  • Often chosen for scaphoid (navicular) concern or when wrist stability matters.
  • Helpful for thumb base (CMC) pain when wrist movement aggravates symptoms.
  • Good when your provider wants strong immobilization + extra wrist control.

Exos Thumb Spica™ Fracture Brace

Best for: fracture-style support, especially with swelling/dressings.

Exos Thumb Spica Fracture Brace
Primary differences/uses:
  • Designed for fracture-style immobilization of wrist + thumb.
  • More accommodating for swelling and bulky dressings early on.
  • Commonly used when there's a distal radius/ulna wrist-area injury.
  • Often selected for acute injury and some post-op situations.

Size Chart & Fit Tips (Most Returns Are From Sizing)

How to measure: Wrap a soft tape loosely around your hand at the measurement point shown in the diagram. If you measure between sizes or prefer a roomier fit (or expect swelling), size up. This brace can be molded for a better fit.

M 9" – < 10" 23 – 25.5 cm 11.25" 315-51-1111 315-52-1111
L 10" – < 11" 25.5 – 28 cm 12.25" 315-61-1111 315-62-1111
XL 11"+ > 28 cm 13" 315-71-1111 315-72-1111
Fit note: A "perfect shoe-like fit" is not the goal—this is a medical brace designed to accommodate swelling and be molded. If you're on the low end of the range, you may have extra room until molded; if you're on the high end, it should feel more "true to size."
