Use this page to find the application guide for the OrthoTape fiberglass splint kit in your order. These are the same instructional images and videos used on the corresponding OrthoTape product pages, organized here in one place for easier access before application.

Important: Fiberglass splints should be selected and applied under the direction of a trained healthcare professional. Follow the treating clinician's instructions for splint position, fit, weight-bearing, and duration of use.

⚠️ BEFORE YOU OPEN THE SPLINT POUCH

Keep the fiberglass splint pouch sealed until you are completely ready to apply it.

  • Do not cut open the pouch to check the color, feel the material, or inspect what is inside.
  • The fiberglass splint material contains moisture-activated resin. Humidity in the air can begin the curing process once the sealed pouch is opened.
  • Opening the pouch just to look at the material can cause it to harden and become unusable.
  • If the pouch arrives torn, punctured, or already unsealed, do not open or use it. Photograph the unopened pouch and contact OrthoTape for assistance.

Have the patient, padding, securing bandage, gloves, water, towel, and work area ready first. Open the pouch only when you are ready to activate and apply the splint.
