Description

AquaCast Waterproof Cast Padding — Single Roll

The AquaCast Waterproof Cast Padding Single Roll is the individual roll option for single-patient use, trial orders, or supplementing existing clinic stock. Each roll is the same soft, pillow-type waterproof padding used in the AquaCast swim cast kits — wrapped around the limb before fiberglass cast tape is applied to create a true waterproof cast.

Water flows through the open-cell AquaCast padding and drains freely, preventing the moisture buildup that causes traditional cotton-padded casts to soften, develop odor, and break down. Patients can shower, bathe, and swim throughout recovery without a cast cover.

How Many Rolls Do I Need?

The number of rolls required depends on the cast type and patient size. As a general guide:

  • Short arm cast: 1–2 rolls (pediatric) / 2 rolls (adult)
  • Long arm cast: 2–3 rolls (pediatric) / 3 rolls (adult)
  • Short leg cast: 2–3 rolls (pediatric) / 3 rolls (adult)

For complete pre-packaged kits with the correct roll count per patient size, see the AquaCast Waterproof Cast Collection.

⚠️ Important: Always Use Saw Stop Under AquaCast Padding

AquaCast padding is thinner than traditional cotton cast padding — which means the oscillating cast saw blade sits closer to the patient's skin during removal. Even with an experienced clinician, the blade can contact skin, particularly in pediatric patients or over bony prominences.

Saw Stop Protective Strip is placed under the innermost layer of AquaCast padding, directly against the skin. It deflects the saw blade and prevents accidental lacerations during cast removal — without affecting cast integrity or waterproofing. It should be considered a standard part of every AquaCast application.

Available in two options:
Saw Stop Protective Strip – By the Foot — cut to length for custom sizing
Saw Stop Protective Strip – 1 Roll (SS10) — full roll for clinic stock

Great product!

This product works great! Dries within an hour, in our experience of use. Sticks to itself so no fabric sleeve is needed. Highly recommend if you have a cast and don’t want to use the big bulky plastic to take a shower or swim.

The padding was light weight. It took a little while for it to dry after a shower. It was great to be able to shower without having to wrap the cast in plastic.
